Laurence, Archangel of the Sword | In Nomine
NYBBAS, YOU DARE!? BELETH, YOU DARE!? YOU DARE TRY TO CAPTURE ME HERE!? Did you really think this form would be an IMPEDIMENT to me!? Enemy of free will, perverter of Man's dreams and drives, you made a mistake bringing me to this pastel mockery.
[Yep, he draws that sword alright. Yep, it's... a flaming sword, all right.]
God's wounds, I wish I had paid more attention to Blandine when I had the chance.
Re: Laurence, Archangel of the Sword | In Nomine
[Danny, in ghost form and floating in midair, was giving Laurence the dryest look.]
Re: Laurence, Archangel of the Sword | In Nomine
[He turns, and stares at you. Then his haunches drop, and he nods his head to you - one warrior to another.]
If this is not an Ethereal realm, then where is it? I know this place, and I know it is... contested.
Re: Laurence, Archangel of the Sword | In Nomine
I have no clue. Just got here too. All I know ist that it looks like a Saturday morning cartoon and its packed with weird-colored ponies.
Re: Laurence, Archangel of the Sword | In Nomine
A Saturday morning cartoon... and one I could name. Usually if I find myself anywhere that looks like one, it is an Ethereal realm - and Ethereal realms resembling the Media's work are almost never good places to find yourself.
[The Media is important. The Media is in caps, and he emphasises it.]
You may call me Laurence.

Re: Laurence, Archangel of the Sword | In Nomine
Do you know how you came to be here?

Re: Laurence, Archangel of the Sword | In Nomine
[He doesn't laugh; he's utterly serious. But he does smile and nod his head, conceding the point.]
It does at least seem like we're on the same side. How much have you figured out?
[Yes, this is a 'testing the troops' thing. Larry knows where this is, or at least what it's supposed to be.]

E-excuse me, sir? A-are ya alright?

well hello
[Aleph should like people who talk about free will and Man's wishes. He should, but the shouting and sword-waving gets on his nerves too much.
He's also armed, though his sword is still sheathed. And Laurence might be able to sense a demonic aura from him... or more accurately the fly resting on his head.]
Re: well hello
He turns and stares Aleph down, trying to get such a read on him. Very reluctantly, Laurence sheathes his sword.]
What am I to assume, when I know of this place and how contested it is in my war? The Prince of the Media is one of the most cunning foes I've ever face. I'd not put this past him.

It was necessary - hooked up to Arcadia, they were completely under the center government's control and completely unaware of what was going on. But it was hardly honorable.
His most honorable moment would have been being willing to sacrifice his life for the chance to stop a tyrant from destroying humanity. That tyrant was God, but it was still a near-hopeless battle that he went into because no one else would do it but him. Even on his success he was still cursed for eternity.]
I don't know that title. But if you know this place you're a step ahead of most of us. I'd never heard of Equestria before arriving.
no subject
Frankly, if his lowest moment was an accident, that says a lot about Aleph. All of it good in Larry's eyes.]
I'm not surprised. Most of Humanity does not know about the war. Although you seem to have fought your own against a false God; curious.
Nybbas is the Demon Prince of the Media. He invented the Television and was immediately granted a brass ring by the Lord of Lies. This world bears... interesting similarities to a project spearheaded by the Angel of Feminism in service to Dreams; he's been working to subvert it ever since.
[OOC: If I ever run In Nomine that's going to be a plotline in it and I'm not sorry.]

[That other stuff they can get to later.]

[And he does bow in shame, and he is sincere and contrite.]
It is a... talent of mine and my Choir to know men by what they think thier most and least honorable deeds.
Be not afraid; you are more than worthy. The 'God' you faced was a tyrant and you were right to face him.
no subject
So for your sake you might either want to stop or not talk about it.
[He's an angel that Aleph doesn't want to smack in the face. This is a rare feat.]
What was your name?
no subject
It is a useful talent, but not so much as you might think. And it is... rude, at least, to Resonate a human in this way.
You may call me Laurence. I am the Archangel of the Sword.

Any relation to Uriel, Michael...? [Those are the archangels he knows who are most destruction-happy.]
no subject
Michael is a friend and a mentor. Uriel...
[He winces. He would never forget what happened to Uriel]
I fought under the direct command of Uriel. When he was placed on trial for... what he did, I was named his successor.
no subject
He doesn't really want to ask.]
--You'll probably need a successor for a while, too. None of us know how to get home.
Novalis is in the thread below if you're interested. :V
David or Michael will probably take command while I am gone. Gods, I hope it's Michael - David's credo of "Strike Last" is a good oath in theory, but "never strike first" is a problem.
Of course, my Michael is probably a great deal kinder than the one you know. And I should be surprised if you knew a Novalis.
Tell me of your world. Tell me of its God and Angels, tell me of its Hell. I know that it wasn't my Lord who called himself that. My lord GIFTED your kind with free will; he would never wish to squash it.

Angels, I don't know much except how to battle them and the insults they've flung at me.

The Lucifer from my world is... rather unlike yours. I do not think that yours would be WELCOME in Heaven, mind. But David would like him a great deal.
