Discord, spirit of chaos and former ruler of Equestria, at your service. And who might you be, my dear Apple admirer? Displaced from a world without me - you poor deprived thing.

Oooooh, a stable, how quaint! But you know, the Celestia of these parts is usually only about - [He pops into a double of Celestia, except with his coloration and his horns slapped on top of hers.] - yea high.

[And he turns back into himself, shuddering.] Ooooh, that always gives me the shivers.

So, did you come here to meet Applejack? She's probably at market now. [He leans back to float again, casually examining his claw.] I know because we're friends.

"Career." He doesn't bother to comment on the name thing; he's gotten that literally his entire life. "It ain't too bad. Turns out ponies like my style of music a lot more than the folks back home, so it's been an experience."

He was never unsuccessful back home, but he certainly hasn't enjoyed the kind of popularity he did here. It was all about what the younger crowds were into. "How about you?" Cutie marks often help, but he figures that bird could mean any number of other things too.

"Maybe it's nostalgia," Velvet muses. "Hearkening back to a simpler time. Of course, times were never simple, but they are easy to look back on with fondness if you've gotten that far."

Velvet smiles. "Strictly a hobby. I was pushed into it as a career, and find it much more pleasant when it's not the source of my livelihood. I'm actually a doctor, by day."

You talk about her behind her back and then turn around and call her your friend? Spirit, mutant, or whatever you are, I think you have a poor grasp on the concept of friendship.

[She starts to scan the farm, walking into it carefully - as if going into a warzone.] And even if you weren't being blasphemous about the Suncaller, you'd be rude.

"You ain't wrong about that." And this is the part where Harvey once again changes the subject to avoid backstory.

"Huh. Don't see too many doctors out doin' this by night." He doesn't mention so, but it'll be good to have someone with that kinda skillset around. Things get weird here, and they've got more than enough superpowered kids runnin' around gettin' themselves hurt anyway. "I agree, though, show business ain't the kinda thing you should do for a livin' if your heart ain't in it."

[He sails after her, because this really is more fun than whatever he was doing.]

Now Fluttershy! There is a friend. Aren't you going to go to her house and cry?

[Actually, that voice is...um. Er. She's not sure if she's heard that voice before.]

"Mmmn. Well." She laughs; a rich, melodious sound smooth as her namesake. "Somepony leaped to conclusions about the meaning of my Cutie Mark and pushed me towards singing as a career. Not a very pleasant experience."

Not the most unpleasant experience she's had by far, but never mind that. Let's not drag her world into this one when she can help it.

She twirls an empty glass that used to contain a Bloody Mary, brushing the bottom with a celery stick held in her will.

"Healing, now healing is something I've always wanted to do. The power of life. The power to take away pain - or at least to help people transcend it, draw power from it. I have no regrets."

[He snaps his fingers, and they're both wearing T-shirts with her face on them.]

We're going to have tea tomorrow! [He leans down a bit closer.] I'm on sandwich duty, it's the most important job. So if you're going to visit her, don't do it then. Tears upset her, poor thing, and I simply CANNOT have her upset!

Now, I was just floating by like the upstanding citizen I am, when I couldn't help noticing that you - [Nose poke!] - looked a bit confused!

[Don't act so surprised. There's also the fact that Q's special effects are very impressive. She KNOWS that's a lot of power to casually throw around. Wasteful. Disquieting.]

...You are lucky you're dealing with me instead of literally anyone else in Little Pip's merry little band.

[He lands and sweeps into a bow.] Discord, spirit of chaos and disharmony and, oh, a lot of other things like that. Do you often dream of being a pony? I dream of being an astronaut! Or maybe a princess!

[Fingersnap, bright flash of light, and they're both wearing spacesuits and floating in a field of stars. Discord's suit has wings and a horn. He chortles and does a few somersaults.]

Now THIS is how you dream! Please take notes, there will be a quiz!

[And then suddenly she's an astronaut. A slightly flailing spinning on all axis pony astronaut.]

Huah--how are you doing this!? U-ua, am I really in space!?...

W-wait...if this is a dream, c-can't I not do a quiz?...

[Alright, the last thing Jin was expecting was to see any form of light, or really, anything at all. The last thing he had known was blackness, and he was sure he was dead; the wound to his chest was severe enough that if he survived it, it would be a miracle.]

[Perhaps chaos had done something, and Jin had merely blacked out? He supposed it was possible, given chaos' powers. But the idea quickly flitted away as he tried to reach up and rub his eyes, only to feel... something else.]

[Eyes opening, it takes Jin a few minutes to even realize what is going on, and when he does, the usual calm demeanor he has is busted by two simple questions.]

What in Lost Jerusalem is this? Why am I a horse?

[Never mind it's a pony, okay? He hasn't quite realized there's a difference.]

*He recognizes that voice. Not to mention that term for Earth. Jin, have a red unicorn trotting up, a saber hanging at one side.*

Not in Lost Jerusalem at all. Unfortunately, we've yet to find a satisfactory explanation for our appearance, although it's possible that the method of our arrival simply transforms us to a native species for ease of long-term habitation.

*He's silent for a moment before continuing.*

It's been quite a while, Uzuki...although I suspect from your vantage point, it hasn't been long at all.

[He sticks a gold star to her, and woops now they're back where they started, sans space suits.]

Quizzes are so terribly boring, they certainly don't belong in dreams! Or anywhere! [It was a similar train of thought, incidentally, that got a new town ordinance passed about Discord being within 100 feet of the Ponyville schoolhouse. Not that he pays much attention.]

[Jin has to wonder why his first thought is 'Of course the sword's still there', even as his brain also clearly recognizes the voice. The second thought is just 'why is Margulis a unicorn'? And the third... Well, nothing]
