Somehow, the Skyfire's sense of humor does more to settle John than anything else. The understated wit makes him shake his head and smile back at the dragon as he follows along. If he can just focus on the morbid humor, he'll get through.

The jocularity shifts to some concern at the mention of months. He can understand not keeping track of time, though. It's like a prisoner keeping tally on the walls: rarely good for one's peace of mind.

"You said we were 'pulled' here. By what? And how did we wind up like... this? I don't even remember being knocked out."
