[ Kyouko kicks at the dirt and takes out an apple to munch on. ] If by "peaceful" you mean "there's nothing to do," then you're absolutely bucking right! [ The automatic censoring hits her again, and she winces. ] How do we get outta here, huh?

Unfortunately, I have no idea. This place definitely isn't a witch's realm, though. There might not even be any witches, which means we don't need to do anything.

Ughh!! [ Kyouko crunches angerly. The apple has no chance. ] Can't even use my magic anymore, either.

[Mami blinks, surprised.]

You can't? ...Do you still have your Soul Gem?

[kuukai]

No.

[ Realization dawns. ] Don't tell me you can still use magic!

Yes, but it seems it's entirely different magic than what I'm used to.

[As a demonstration, she magically levitates a cup over to Kyoko and pours some tea in it.]

...I'm sure you can count this as a sort of blessing. You don't need to fight witches anymore to survive.

[ This flummoxes Kyouko entirely. ]

Well then what the hay am I supposed to do now?! [ She's lived for so long within the system that she knows nothing but it. ] Just-- what-- be one of these things until Kyubey decides to show up or-- ?

[ She sits on her haunches and crosses her forelegs in a very human move. She really wishes she had something to chew on right now. But unfortunately, all of her food is used up. She hasn't discovered saddlebags. ]

[Mami is being very calm about this. She's always calm, isn't she? Mami looks over herself.]

It's a very different experience. Who knows what might happen? I suggest we mingle and wait things out.

[ Kyouko grumbles and gets up. ] Fine. You do that. I'm going to find more food.

You're not drinking your tea?

[Aww noooooo please don't go Mami will have a sad. They were actually having a conversation together without any bad blood. :(]

[ She was so annoyed that she completely missed Mami offering her food. Which goes against everything she stands for.

(From a food perspective, anyway. ]

Oh. ... I guess. [ She morosely takes the tea with her hooves, which proves to be a fairly difficult endeavor. She spills about half of it. ] Bucking thing...

[Mami just smiles cheerfully.]

You'll get used to it. Just sip it slowly for now.

I miss hands...

[ She drops the cup on the table and just bends down to lick the tea out of the cup. It's much more effective this way, if less dignified. ]

[Mami magically floats over a napkin for the tea Kyoko accidentally spilled.]

I'm a little curious, how have you been doing since we split up? Everything going okay?

[Mami knows the answer to that would be no. She still wants to hear a yes.]

[ The question's so unexpected from Mami of all people that she's taken aback for a moment. ]

Tomoe, everyone's dead. Except Homura and that kid.

[Wait, what?]

Dead? What are you talking about? Miki-San and Kaname-San are alive. I was just about to finish off another witch with my Tori Finale.

[kuukai]

Come on, you-- you must know. You jerk, don't bucking do this, I don't want to go through it again.

Sakura-san, I honestly don't know what you're talking about.

[Internally, Mami is in full panic mode, wondering just what the fuck is going on. Outside, only mild confusion.]

What's wrong?

Shut up. [ Kyouko's shaking her head. ] Shut up, okay, I don't...

[ She feels herself about to lose it before she finally does. ]

You're dead! You and Sayaka and I, we all died and the other two don't stand a bucking chance.

[bustadecapinyoass]

[And Mami still has no idea what's going on. She's starting to lose it, too.]

I- I'm not dead...!

[Mami abruptly stands up and bashes her hooves on the table.]

Look at me, I'm breathing! You're breathing! Just- just calm down and everything will be fine! We're alive! See? Alive!

[kuukai]

Yeah? [ Her voice is cold. ] Are we alive there or here? Ever think that this might not be a mortal realm?

Be glad you bucking got out of it. There's far worse that could have happened to ... either of us.

[Mami frowns.]

B- but we're alive... I know we're alive... I don't feel like I'm dead... You, me, Kyubey... Even Homura... we're all alive...

...Is- is this some sort of witch's curse!?

[Mami immediately gets her soul gem out, ready to transform and save Kyoko from whatever witch is causing this. She's trying her best to keep her head on in this situation.]

[ Kyouko doesn't react. ] Go ahead, senpai. Fight your way out of this one. See how that goes for you.

[ She takes the tea and sips it again. ]

[Mami stares at Kyoko for a few seconds before calming down a little and looking for any nearby grief seeds.]

[ Watching her old teacher with about as much emotion as Homura. ] What? Missing something?
