[Weeeeeelll, this certainly didn't look like any parts of Azeroth that she remembered. Maybe this meant that she was on a bender again? The last that Jou Shan remembered, she'd been talking to Jogu the Drunk, back in Halfhill, and Shaohao knew the fumes from that Jinyu could knock over a full-grown Tauren at times...]

Hey! Can anyone tell me where I am? This isn't Halfhill!

[This is coming from a golden unicorn with a red and orange mane, and she sits down a little.] At least you arrived during a normal day.

Ponyville? So this is that place I remember! But I thought that was a dream! Or a hallucination...

[And thus the Pandaren-turned-zebra plops down on her haunches, looking for all the world as if she'd been beaned in the head by something heavy.]

Well. I suppose it's a boon that I'm not actually drunk again. And...there is a not-normal day? What happens then? Large monster attacking the city? Vermlings stealing your vegetables? Ancient evil awakening on the wrong side of the bed, and deciding everyone else's day needs to be as bad as its own?

It's certainly no hallucination. Though sometimes it weirds itself up.

[Sunset pats her on the shoulder.] Mostly someone gets grumpy and things explode. That's about it.

Oh, that's no more dangerous than a walk through Orgrimmar! The Warchief is usually grumpy, and there are always explosions when one is around the goblins...

Just tell me I can make beer here, or cook, and I think I will be fine!

[Ah, Pandaren, people of simple pleasures.]

Oh good, you'll fit right in. And yes, you can cook and there's always an outlet for strong drink at the Decanter, but it's good to have a homebrewer too.

Perhaps I should not mention that I am an engineer, too. Though, I do not have any explosives on me. I have made it a point to not casually carry such things around. It is dangerous! But goblins, many of them are insane, you see...

I suppose it is good to know I will fit in! Perhaps I can open up a little noodle cart somewhere. Or this "Decanter" will buy my beer! That is, if I can find things to brew it with! But still, it will be an adventure!

Wait, an engineer as in building gadgets from metal and stuff, or some kind of building engineer? You seem to imply the former...

And yeah, noodle carts are short in supply. There's only like one in town and it only serves buckwheat noodles. The Decanter's always looking and we could use something new to drink.

Oh, gadgets! Though I have raised a barn in my time! With help, but I did it, so! I fiddle with jewelry too, but I am no miner. Just put the finished products together, you see.

They are looking for help at the Decanter? What kind of help? Or is it just brew help? Because I can do that, or I can always throw the rowdy ones out on their ear if I must.

[How rude, being super rowdy in a place where you're supposed to eat and drink!]

Well you'll fit right in then. There's probably enough work to go around anyhow.

[Sunset thought about it for a moment before replying,] Honestly the only one who gets rowdy is Berry Punch, and that's after a lot of drink. She can't hold it obviously. But at the same time, you can probably find work anywhere you look.

Oh, so she only needs an escort out and being told to sleep it off. Or someone to watch her a little better and feed her while she drinks. Though that does not mean she will listen, hey?

[Jou Shan laughs at that.] Idle paws--hooves, I guess--are ones that can get into trouble! Best to do some work! If nothing else I can open a noodle cart--buckwheat is fine, but it gets bland if that's all there is. Rice noodles...ramen, udon, shirataki--I could go on, but food is one of my favorite subjects! [She is a happy zebra, at least...]

Probably. Berry's pretty good about not stirring up a fuss at times.

Those sound delicious. We haven't had food like that here in a long time. I'm looking forward to it.

Oh, good. Well, that sort of thing should be rewarded. If I do open my shop, we'll just have to give her a running discount!

Oh, I do dumplings and rolls---being ponies I suppose you don't do a lot of meat here, but I still know how to cook that sort of thing, if you've meat eating dignitaries and so on. Beer basted short ribs are to die for--though you'll have to take my word for it. Maybe I can do beer basted bamboo shoots.

[Though Jou heaves a sigh.] It's probably not the same!

I feel sorry then. Most ponies aren't meat eaters, and only a few can stomach it. I learned, but it was because I got turned into a human for a while.

I was a Pandaren--if it's edible we can probably eat it. I don't know why I got turned into a zhevra, but so long as something doesn't try to eat me, you know, it's all good.

How'd you get turned into a human? I didn't think that was a common thing. Unless you were using illusions--that happens a LOT in Azeroth.

Well that's good then. Omnivorous is pretty decent at least.

Hmm.... no, not really. It was a magic mirror that turns anyone moving between the worlds into a human or equivalent.

Oh dear. I hope I never encounter it. I--well, humans are all right to hang around, but I'm fairly sure I wouldn't want to be one myself.

Not that I'm sure I enjoy being a zhevra either, but to each their own, I guess.

Considering most if not 90% of Equestria are vegetarian or have found a way around the protein requirements of most animal life, you'll be safe.

Here is hoping I don't miss meat too much, then. Or fish. I think I was more fond of mantis shrimp than anything else, but considering they were almost as big as my fist, I do not think anyone could blame me...

Oh, but if I keep this up I will make myself hungry!

Oh gosh, some of those sound great too. Now I'm wishing I wasn't mostly vegetarian myself. But at least I'm not vegan, or that'd be really difficult.

Eh, there are still plenty of delicious vegetable dishes, so long as I can get the proper ingredients! Sauteed carrots are delicious, after all!

At this rate I ought to give up and just find something to make food with...

Maybe finding food to eat is a good idea. You sound like you could get some Neighponese food going too.

I do not know what Neighponese food is, but I love food, so I am willing to try anything! I do not know if your folk take gold, but I am sure I have some of that left over...

[At which she looks in her saddlebags--when did her backpack get turned INTO that, anyway?--and a mixed look of annoyance and relief crosses her face.]

Well, I have some gold, but I am certain I had more. I did not think I had spent so much at the Auction House...

There's a trust fund if you're short on money. That should be all right actually. If you ask the bank they'll just get the minor paperwork sorted out.
