So I actually got turned into a book in an alternate timeline?

Yeah, you bound your soul to the Sacred Tome and essentially became it. You still had all your powers, but you'd end up falling over a lot during your evil laughing.

And your so-called "battle monkeys" had to carry you around.

Falling over while laughing!? I, the almighty Overlord Zetta, reduced to comic relief? That's -- that's --

[Abruptly, Zetta remembers a few key incidents in his time here. Key, painful, embarrassing incidents.]

[Nevermind the fact that it was all her fault to begin with. Not that he didn't deserve it at the time...]

[They're demons, so obviously Pram hadn't done it out of the kindness of her heart or anything. Heck, Zetta had spent a year plus explaining laboriously to all the ponies here that demons didn't have friends or show each other compassion or selflessness.]

[Eyebrow raise. Looking confused is all part of the act, but it is of course convincing. Telling him the truth was out of the question, at least for now.]

Catch? There was no catch. Aside from the fact that getting you back to your normal form would mean I could mess with you more. Books make awful toys. All I could do was throw you at Alex and that's about it.

(Twilight nods at that. She'll have to explain the whole pony name thing later, but in the meantime...)

An overlord? You wouldn't happen to know Zetta, by any chance, would you? Firey hair, incredibly powerful, calls himself a badass freaking overlord...

Everybody knows Zetta. It's kinda hard not to know someone that strong. But if you're talking about personally, then yes.

[She brings one of her hooves up to her face and giggles.]

I know him very well.

Oh. I ask because he's been here for about a year. Since this whole fiasco started, actually. He's still working on conquering Equestria with...mixed results.

[A human might be surprised or even disgusted, but Pram is a demon through and through. So sorry Twilight, but she just seems really amused.]

Yeah, that sounds like Zetta. Unsurprising that he'd try to find another Netherworld to conquer after losing his own. Though if you haven't been conquered after a year, you all must be tougher than you look.

(The concern is more towards what other demons would think about him being unable to take over a world of happy singing horses. That's the sort of low blow others would playfully dangle over his head.)

Never underestimate us ponies. Especially the pink earth pony named Pinkie Pie. She will surprise you, if you haven't bumped into her already.

[She might just, if she's in the mood to mess with him more than usual.]

I haven't. Though I must say she does sound quite interesting. Would you mind telling me about her?

She's a pink earth pony who in Sugarcube Corner, the most well known bakery in Ponyville. She's a strong advocate for friendship and baking, but is largely known for her love of parties. She does birthday parties, bar mitzvahs, "sorry that life's got you down, but here's a cake and a bunch of your friends" gatherings, you name it.

She's also fourth wall aware and uses that knowledge liberally.

(A shared trait amongst NIS characters, really, any anyone who spends too much time with Zetta.)

That was the Rainbow Mode you mentioned earlier, right? From what I understand, it sounds as if they were given the power of the elements without needing the elements themselves...

Yeah, that's what we figured. They did give them back a while ago, and it's amazing they could do stuff like that.

"Might've been whatever gets into someone's head, when they have a kid." He replied. Parenthood has a funny way of changing people...and if the parallels he's drawing are that parallel, then this pony just became much more interesting.

"Can't really say I know what that is, but I get the gist of it. You probably know more than I do about that."

"Well, when I had Scootaloo my world went upside down. Almost literally." She laughed lightly. "But I would never give her up for anything. She's my little Morningstar."

A certain orange pegasus filly was zooming by on her scooter when she spotted her mom.. doing something she really, shouldn't be. Cue a hasty turn and furiously buzzing wings while terrified ponies ran past.

"Mom! I think you need a break from uh... that."

"B-but it looks so good...!" whimpered Sunny aka Sunbeam as she looked at the delicious pastries with a bit of drool at the edge of her mouth. "Scootaloo can't we just get one?"

Her mother, Sun-Diarch of the Entire Freaking World, stuck wanting cake.

Scootaloo wanted to bang her head against her handle bars. Leave it to her mom to drool over sugary pastries. "It's never 'just one' when we walk in there." The antics of Sugar Cube Corner were legendary like that.

"...Aren't you supposed to be on a diet." Scootaloo tried tugging the older mare away from the window. Just... need to get her away. "Moonbeam can come down and get her own stuff."

Her little wings buzz while she tugs. "Come on Mom. Lets do something else."

"I suppose the diet could wait..." She sighed deeply, as Scootaloo grabbed her attention and she smiled. "I didn't mean to go back on it though," she added wistfully. "But all right, lets go."

Zetta, it's obvious you don't understand how I work. The more players I have in the game, the more toys I get to play with. What purpose does knocking someone off the board serve?

[Besides, as far as she's concerned she's already the second strongest Overlord. If she really wanted to off someone, she would have done it long ago.]
