THE NIGHTMARE MEME

Congratulations! Whether through trickery, temptation, or plain old possession, your character has been corrupted by an ancient darkness, previously known only to the Princess of the Night. The Nightmare has just begun.

♦ Your character is now a Nightmare! How did they get to this point, and what do they plan to do with their newfound power? Doubtless, power is on their minds...and maybe eternal night wouldn't hurt either? Just a little bit?

♦ Oh no! Your character's friend is now a Nightmare version of themselves! Will you fight back or try to talk them down? You should probably avoid doing what Celestia did - unless you've got a thousand years to spare.

♦ You know what? Friendship IS magic! Being evil would be a lot more fun if your friends were with you - maybe you should try to lure them over to the dark side as well. Hint: try baking some cookies!

♦ Don't forget the aftercare! If you do manage to snap your friend out of Nightmarehood, you had best be on hoof for a whole lot of comforting afterwards. These things are never easy. Ask Luna, if thou hast doubts.

♦ Villain song. Do it.

Mami is nearby and calmly sips her cup of tea. There;s no reason why Kyoko shouldn't be around, either, to keep an eye on things if they go bad.

"Greetings. It's nice to meet you. I'm Mami Tomoe."

[The unicorn flicks his ears slightly at the intrusion. He looks a bit annoyed - but she's being polite enough. It isn't a bother.]

Pollo. [Because he did this to remain Pollo, he wouldn't sacrifice his name even to them.] Can I help you?

From seemingly out of newhere, Mami pulls out a plate of cake and offers it to Pollo.

"Would you care to have a chat over some tea and cake?"

[Pollo's gaze gets possibly even flatter, and turns from the cake to her several times. Why is this happening]

Alright. [He levitates the plate over to himself with his bright red magic, which is now flinging sparks from its aura as well. He knows that the whole eternal night thing will have its opponents, and he recognizes that this is most likely a trap, but he's willing to wait and see where she's going with it. Pollo's always been one to move with the flow.]

Mami pours a cup of tea for Pollo. "It's very nice to meet you, Pollo-san. It's a lovely night out, isn't it?"

I like to think so. I've really had very little practice.

[If the tea IS poisoned, he's got enough magic to burn it out, so he takes a sip and looks back up at the sky. A few stars shift themselves as his horn pulses.]

But I suppose I'll have plenty of time to work on it.

The tea is poisoned... with absolutely nothing! It just tastes delicious.

"I'm sure you'll be able to get good at the night if they let you."

[Yes, that's the thing, isn't it? Pollo doesn't especially want to fight his friends, but the Nightmares are always quick to remind him that they aren't just going to let this stand. They want him to go back to being small and weak and afraid.

He won't believe it. They'll see how much better everything is this way, and they'll leave him be.]

I don't think we're going to have a problem. [And if they DO...he guesses he'll just have to take that as it comes.]

Mami takes one more sip of her tea before frowning.

"I've never met a witch that wasn't trouble. I think it and it's familiars are nearby."

A witch?

[Pollo glances down at Ponyville, arching an eyebrow. It all looks fine to him.]
