THE NIGHTMARE MEME

Congratulations! Whether through trickery, temptation, or plain old possession, your character has been corrupted by an ancient darkness, previously known only to the Princess of the Night. The Nightmare has just begun.

♦ Your character is now a Nightmare! How did they get to this point, and what do they plan to do with their newfound power? Doubtless, power is on their minds...and maybe eternal night wouldn't hurt either? Just a little bit?

♦ Oh no! Your character's friend is now a Nightmare version of themselves! Will you fight back or try to talk them down? You should probably avoid doing what Celestia did - unless you've got a thousand years to spare.

♦ You know what? Friendship IS magic! Being evil would be a lot more fun if your friends were with you - maybe you should try to lure them over to the dark side as well. Hint: try baking some cookies!

♦ Don't forget the aftercare! If you do manage to snap your friend out of Nightmarehood, you had best be on hoof for a whole lot of comforting afterwards. These things are never easy. Ask Luna, if thou hast doubts.

♦ Villain song. Do it.

'Rainbow' didn't have to feign any pain at all, since this wouldn't go away for a while which really annoyed the Pegasus. But as Fluttershy came over, she knew the time wasn't right. Not yet, especially sicne she had figured her out. Oh well, she knew exactly what to say if that occurred.

"Yeah, next time she should ask if somepony's in disguise first 'cause that really hurt! Now I can't get the real Nightmarejack to come out! ...But I'll be okay. You know me; I've had worst crashes than that!"

When in doubt, suggest another pony's the corrupted party.

Fluttershy is silent as some mental conversing between her and Cruelly happens.

"...It wasn't right to assume that, but Fluttercruel thought that laughing you did felt a little bit off. Fluttercruel, why don't you say you're sorry to Rainbow Dash?"

Fluttercruel takes control, looking regretful and scuffling a hoof on the ground. "I'm sorry..."

The other Pegasus' regretful expression almost looked cute, Rainbow's arm slung over Cruelly's shoulder while she smiled softly at her before replying. "Eh, I totally get it. It's okay, Cruelly; I'd knock you -or Fluttershy- out too if I thought you'd been taken over like Applejack has! 'Cause you're my friends, and that's what friends do for each other if somepony's in trouble!"

Exactly what Rainbow would say if she really was herself, which might cause the other girls -aside from Pinkie- to give her a look of disbelief or an 'Are you serious?' expression. As for the pink-haired pony?

Fluttercruel blinks a couple of times. While Fluttershy is a little confused, Fluttercruel on the other hand?

"See, mom? She gets it! I don't know why you're weirded out. Kindness through cruelty, remember?"

A few more seconds pass by and then... "Wait, what the flying feather was that about Orange?"

Rainbow just laughed a little, nothing like that 'boisterous' one from earlier but one Fluttershy and even Cruelly would recall as the Pegasus' normal laugh. "She's always been like that; you know Fluttershy as well as I do. She couldn't hurt a bee, much less hit me with a frying pan like you did! It's nice to be nice, until you don't have to be nice!"

After a few seconds, she looks around 'suspiciously' and then tugs Fluttercruel down a bit so they can't be 'overheard.' "Applejack's been taken over by that freaky shadow that once had Princess Luna in it's grasp; she's calling herself Nightmarejack now, and I barely got outta Sweet Apple Acres before she would've had me! Pretty sure she'll target the rest of us next but that's why we gotta get ready for her."

Fluttershy was once 'accused' of having tail extensions, and as Rainbow conversed with the other Pegasus her own tail seemed to go through the same thing while stealthily targeting the frying pan very quietly so it wouldn't be heard.
