A lot of them brought magic-like abilities with them, and until a few months ago there was a giant labyrinth underneath Canterlot that had recreations of places from other worlds, and sometimes gave those abilities room to spread. On the other hand, a lot of them have reported that those abilities feel weaker, so you might want to check whatever it is that pendant of yours is.
