Dedede was walking inside the bakery known as Sugarcube Corner and noticed all the sugary goodness displayed inside. Never had he seen so many cakes and pastries in his life. Surely it's for him to eat; after all, he is hungry and his rumbling stomach is eager to be filled.

Wasting no time, he made his way over to the counter and began to eat the slices of strawberry shortcake that are on display.

"*much, munch, munch* This... is so...*munch* good! Ha! Too bad Kirby isn't here to eat this! *munch, munch, munch*!"

Fluttershy made frequent visits to Sugarcube Corner - after all, it was where she could visit Pinkie Pie and many of her new friends here, and there was no denying that the food always smelled so good here...

Her attention turned to the new pony in town, and her eyes widened as she witnessed the spectacle.

"O-Oh no, y-you shouldn't eat all of that...!"

Dedede had finished eating the strawberry shortcake and was going for the tray of cupcakes that was sitting next on the counter, that is if he haven't been rudely interrupted by a yellow pegasus. Could she possibly want them for herself?

"Finder's keepers." Was all he said before stuffing his mouth with one sprinkled cupcake, eating it whole.

Pinkie's on duty that day, having subbed for someone else when they were away when the newcomer began eating all their product. Tilting her head she proclaimed, "Wow, you have an appetite!"

Dedede was eating the last slice of strawberry shortcake when he heard someone speak of his appetite. He swallowed what's left in his mouth before facing the pink-haired pony.

"Of course I do!" he said proudly as he grabbed another cake, this time holding it in its entirety rather than in slices. "No one in Equestria can eat more than me!"

"You've been officially challenged!" Exclaimed Pinkie, discretely paying for the impending carnage with a tick of her pen. "Names' Pinkie Pie and I can eat just as much cake and sweets as you can!"

"Name's Dedede and we'll see about that!" He replied, eager to beat her at their game. It's been a while since he had a Gourmet Race with Kirby, whom he would lose to every time. Surely he will beat his new opponent, who obviously wouldn't stand a chance. Pinkie Pie surely doesn't know who she's up against.

"All right you're on! First one to twenty slices is the winner!" Exclaimed Pinkie, setting down the food in front of the pair.

"On your mark, get set, GO!"

Dedede wasted no time gobbling up the slices of cake placed in front of them, but not before engulfing the cake he was planning on eating prior to the challenge. After swallowing that up, he took three slices of cake from the plate and put it all in his mouth; no doubt he intends to win this match.
