And I said, like, "Bertram, you can't just let other people's expectations keep you from being who you are." I mean, everyone has their expectations about who you should be. If you tried to fulfill them all you'd never have time to be who you wanted.

Yeah, it's one thing to not do something or just keep a low profile if being too obvious would lead to you being indefinitely detained or painfully re-educated, but come on.

He then went on to compare my sexuality to, and I quote, "hookworm or toothrot".

He lives at the commune. Really, it's probably a bad idea to set anything on fire there. We just rebuilt after a fire a month or two ago.

Mr Palmer, in the time and place Mr Wooster and I come from, men of a Uranian disposition face both those consequences. I would personally rather compare the condition to that of kleptomania or hypochondria, but I suppose the difference between mental and physical illnesses is lost on him.

I get that you and this Bertie guy are afraid for your OWN sakes and I'm willing to cut you some slack for that, but, uh, wow.

The doctors in your world fucked up. They were wrong. It happens, and it's fucked up and tragic and terrible, but they were wrong about it being a sickness.

I'm sorry it made your lives a certain kind of secretive hell, but could you try not to make that hell spill over into everyone else's lives?
