[Maebhrin glances upward at that. She'd noticed, in one small part of her mind, but it had no significance at all to her.]

So we are. Does...that have some meaning in your culture, that I do not understand? Because it is a plant to me.

[Have a widening of her eyes at that. Her ears flick backwards, but only for the briefest of moments. Maebhrin does try to move away, only to realize that--she can't.]

[She closes her eyes, and puckers up. Apparently, she's game, if he is.]

[Hiro can't really escape this fate either, so he does the only thing lef yo do. He can't exactly kill the cheek, given that she already puckered up, so... he just sort of... kisses Maebhrin on the lips and hopes she doesn't take too muck offense.]

This is not a terrible tradition. I definitely think 'tis a thing that can grow on me.
