Skyfire sighed a little and then couldn't help but grin a bit. "I'll tell you... tromping on a limb is a sure way to tell that you're not dreaming."

He grins a bit at the question. "I normally just get a barrel of something... It's easier on them than trying to order anything else." John might find it either amusing or odd, but they drank out of mugs and glasses just like humans did.

"Sorry, how big are people usually on Cybertron?" It sounded like some sort of computer world.

Arriving at the bar, he sat down outside on the edge of the patio and ordered a barrel of decent beer, before pausing a moment. "Do you want something different, or would you just like a couple of mugs out of mine?" Because really, it's not like a pitcher or so taken from the barrel, or adding a different drink order will make much difference.

"I'll take whatever you're having. Ta!" He felt like a bit of a leech just suddenly taking charity like this, but his wallet had been in his trousers... and those appeared to have gone missing in his transition here. The waiter - there was a pony in a bow tie and it shouldn't have been funny, but it was hilarious - hopped off to fetch their order. John just sat back and looked up at Skyfire.
"You're taking all of this very well, it must be said." Focusing on the dragon lets him not focus on himself. That is preferable at the moment.

He nodded to the pony when their order was delivered and handed over one of the small, pre-counted bags of bits that he keept in one of the bags tucked under a wing. They'd give him the excess later, or let him know if he owed them a bit more... It was pretty hard for Skyfire to count out such small currency without tools after all. They'd brought out a barrel of local brew for Skyfire and an empty pitcher and mug for John.
Taking hold of the nearly pony sized barrel, he unsheathed a front claw and carefully sliced open the top of the wooden keg. Clearly there was no point in putting a spigot in it. "I'll leave it to you to fill the pitcher... The glass is a bit thinner than I feel safe trying to pick up." It wouldn't hurt him if it did break, but he didn't want to wreck anything.
At his comment of taking it all well, Skyfire just let out a sad sounding sigh. "When you've already lost everything, what difference does it make where you end up staying? I've made friends here... and I still have them..." Now that sounds like a bit of a story, but Skyfire doesn't really sound like he wants to talk about it. Even if it's something he should get off his chest.

When their server carries out a pitcher and regular pint glass, John is a little mystified. He goes to prod at it... and manages to pick it up. With a hoof. Sure. That makes absolutely no sense. Of course it would happen. Trying to ignore this latest turn for the bizarre, John fills the pitcher, then his glass before raising his drink to Skyfire. "To found friends."
He takes a long pull off what turns out to be a surprisingly good beer. "All right, so if I'm just going to... be here. What do I need to know? What's currency? Who're we fighting or what are we looking for?" And where is he meant to live? He sees houses with ponies coming in and out, so presumably there somehow human like that, as well.
