Not too sure of the Dark Rainbow bit, but it was Tirek. He came to Equestria centuries ago with his brother Scorpan, and tried to steal all of Equestria's magic.

He got us good, we were completely defenseless against him.

Understand, I was taken here while I sought a way to free the High Princess of the Moon from the influence of a foul being of Nightmare. Although I think I have an idea, thanks to my reflections aiding me.

Lucia huh? Nice name actually, I like it. And yeah that's pretty close to what happened back home, what with the two comings of Nightmare Moon. That big throwdown last year was pretty amazing, against all of those shadows from the moon.
