He sighs a bit and sits down.

"Stables and PipBucks. Do you know some, uh, pony called Velvet Remedy?"

[A gift? That's even more acceptable of what she's willing to allow. Now, there's no bad blood between these two people.]

Velvet Remedy? You've seen her!?

"She's around here somewhere, yeah. Set up a clinic last I heard, so you might be able to find her there. Its in the Night Market, which should be easy enough to find."

The mun isn't sure if his assumption that there are signs near it is based off anything or not, though.

"You're from her version of the wasteland, aren't you."

[Littlepip fiddles with the map function on her Pipbuck. After a moment or two, she frowns.]

...I don't see it on here. Yeah, we're from the same Wasteland. I've never seen you before. Where are you from?

"It should pop up once you find it. I'm not sure our, uh, pipbucks are compatible enough to transfer anything."

Alex shakes his head. "The Mojave, mostly, but I'm not from the same Wasteland as you. From what I can tell my world and Vevl--yours are pretty similar, but mine is full of humans and not ponies."

Well, humans and monsters and mutant and killer robots, but she's probably got those of some sort anyway.

[Littlepip levitates the screwdriver out of the save and over to her, smiling.]

I'm a PipBuck Technician. I can take a look for you.

[Mojave, huh? ...She has the urge to want to visit and explore.]

What all's in Mojave? What was it's past like? Do you have any Memory Orbs I can look into?

Now that's interesting, Alex wonders if she can fix whatever's been done to it by his arriving here. Except...

"Its a Pip-Boy where I come from. And there's no such thing as magic, so I don't know if it'll do any good."

He rubs his chin. "Its a desert, near the NCR--uh, New California Republic. Back where I come from the Old World ended because of a war with nuclear weapons, since then it's mostly been tribals and people trying to form cities or just get by. And a lot of problems with wildlife."

He blinks and cants his head, lowering his hoof. "Memory Orbs?"

No magic? That means... no magical spell matrix? I don't think your PipBuck should work, then.

[A world without magic is baffling to Littlepip. And wrong. It goes against everything she knows.

Littlepip has no idea where that is. But hey, different wastelands.]

My wasteland's in Equestria. We had a war with the Zebras before Megaspells were used. They're what caused the radiation and everything to be a wasteland. Memory Orbs contain memories. If someone's a unicorn, they can just use their magic to view them. Otherwise you need black orbs.

"It works, just clearly not the same way yours does."

He doesn't really get it either, but he's had enough experience in pre-war science working even though it makes no sense.

"Yeah, we don't have anything like that back home." Sounds kinda like something the Think Tank would have looked into, but all their stuff turned out dangerous and wrong so...he's kinda glad they didn't. "Only way to preserve memories are in books and holotapes, and ones from before the War aren't always in the best shape."

You aren't looking hard enough to find any Memory Orbs then.

[There's that feeling she got when exploring stables that weren't her own. This dude's world is all off.]

I have some recordings stored in my PipBuck, too. I don't see very many books out in The Wastelands.

"There's no magic where I come from, how would there even be stuff that needs magic to use it?"

Alex knows that feeling, its the same one he has with Velvet.

"There are some, but almost all of them are rotten or otherwise impossible to read."

[Don't let Velvet Remedy see this arguing. She'll tease the both of them about this.]

You- you said you have humans. No magic must mean you have some sort of equivalent... that doesn't even work because there's no magic. Ugh, next thing, you'll be telling me you had no Ministries, either.

"As far as I know everything worked on some sort of science."

He raises an eyebrow.

"Velvet's sort of mentioned it, and there are ponies here who, uh, are similar to your ministers but...no, as far as I know we didn't have Ministries in my world. Just countries and armies and bombs."

Yes, we had Ministries. I learned about them from Memory Orbs. There's Ministries of Peace, Morale, Awesome, Image, Technology, Arcane Sciences. They were lead by The Elements of Harmony. Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Applejack, and Twilight Sparkle, respectively.

"They're all here. Those ponies, at least, as far as I know. None of the ones here seem to have ministries but I'm sure Velvet would have asked more about it."

He just assumes because of what's he's talked about with Velvet Remedy and the fact that nopony else is from a radioactive hellhole.

"Where I come from those sort of names are usually pretty rare." Except maybe with some weird tribes. "So I'm pretty sure I would have noticed if I came across anything that mentioned them."

[Littlepip just huffs. This person's world is WRONG and it frustrates her. She tries to counter his arguments with facts, but instead stutters. Eventually she just decides to turn her attention back on the safe. She pauses.]

...Do you have any more bobby pins?

He'd counter with his own facts and then they'd never stop, so its just as well.

Alex deadpans. "You think I'm going to give you the tools to get into MY safe?"

Nevermind there was nothing in it. In fact there wasn't much of his that he stored in this room, even if this was the first time he'd seen or heard of anypony trying to steal things.

[...Littlepip backs away and puts her screwdriver away.]

"I'm not just wandering into random rooms."

If he was he wouldn't announce his presence like he had.

I thought this room wasn't really occupied at all. The last three weren't. And this room could have had useful stuff... that I can use...

Its probably pretty hypocritical of him to be angry, considering he'd done the same earlier.

"I'm Alex, Alex Buck. And I'm not sure you'd find anything you'd consider useful here, they have a much different idea of what that is."

[Littlepip shrugs.]

I found a couple bottlecaps. That was it, really.

He's been collecting them himself, though. That's what's in the safe, but only of the local variant.
