*...Oh. That's why you seem familiar. Well this is. Awkward. The phoenix on his back squawks at his shoulders tensing and instead flies up to land on his head. He's going to have to fix his mane later, but he's a bit distracted from that right now.*

As far as I know, he isn't here as of yet. However... *No, he does not want to be the one to explain duplicates. At least not just yet.* ...it's difficult to predict who will arrive and when. He may appear here in the new future.

It also seems we're from the same world, albeit vastly different points in time.

[ Or of him. "Isn't here yet" isn't "no", so Nigredo will hold out some hope yet. Though do pardon the forcefulness beginning to crop up. ]

You know of us. I'm not familiar with you. That's a poor way of introducing yourself.

My name is Margulis. Your brother came into my care after...a certain event I'd rather not speak of.

*He's not entirely sure he even can speak of it. Every time he tries to mention the planet's name, his throat closes up and he chokes.*

Miltia. [ Nigredo, on the other hand, isn't afraid of it. It was literally two days ago.

Something that makes him angry, smoothed out under a cold demeanor. His politeness is now more a formality. ] Which brother, might I ask?

[ Nigredo doesn't except Albedo, though he doesn't believe him dead. (A sick part of him wishes he was, but that's carefully contained despair and dislike of sudden, violent changes.) Were there other survivors? One of the other Units, perhaps? There could be.

...Right? ]

*He just nods. It takes him a moment to get over the flood of emotions, of pain, of guilt and loss and anger and so many other things, before he can answer. Even then, his voice is a little distant, as he moves to a different painful subject, though perhaps not as bad as it used to be.*

Albedo.

*For once, that's all he has to say. It's a topic he's been avoiding with the older Nigredo for...a long time.*

[ For a long moment, Nigredo says nothing. The way his new tail curls in is one part agitation and one part wanting to just... curl up for a while. Sleep, maybe. Perhaps then he'd wake up in a world that makes some real sense. ]

I see. [ But his voice is softer, eyes, too. Grief hits hard. Same for Margulis, whomever he really is, as well, it would seem. ] Take...

Take care of him. Please. When [ if ] you get back. He's my brother...

*Now doesn't seem like the time to mention that he's dead and can't go back home. Luckily, he learned something from Gaignun that he thinks will help.*

I've already done the best I could for him. He's back in Rubedo's care now. With luck, he'll be better off there.

*He's a little bit surprised to find he means it. He really does hope being with his brother will do Albedo some good. So much for not caring one bit about the deranged lunatic.*

I... apologize. About my behavior.

[ What more can he really say. Rubedo has always known best, right? (Sometimes Nigredo doubted that more than anything else.) Margulis may be right.

He's not unsympathetic to someone else's pain. ]

It was uncalled for after your kindness.

*Part of him wonders if the boy would still be apologizing to him if he knew what role he'd played in the Conflict. But now's not the time to dwell on that. He just shakes his head, sending the phoenix fluttering off to hover next to him with a glare.*

It's understandable, given recent events from your vantage point. I doubt anyone would be feeling particularly polite with that on their mind.

[ Eyes flick from Margulis to the pheonix, and back. There's a good attempt at a frown as far as dragons can in the first place. ]
