Sakaki | Azumanga Daioh
To be fair, Sakaki isn't trying to stalk, but it's hard not to. She wishes she could patter, like a kitten, but pattering just isn't something she can make herself do, even now that she's a...cat. She can't believe that. Even more than being trapped in the world of adorable, talking colorful horses, the fact that she is a cat is the part that is weird to her. In a sense, it should be delightful. But really it's hard to enjoy, even though she's taken to the more acrobatic parts of being a cat with ease, demonstrated by how she easily jumps from a trashcan top to a windowsill as she continues her...'investigation' of the ponies.
Ponies. Talking ponies.
Talking, multi-colored ponies.
Talking, multi-colored ponies who live in cute little houses and have jobs and sing.
It would be easy, if one caught her, to mistake the look Sakaki is giving the ponies she's watching right now as a look of ferocity. Of sternness, befitting the wild cat she looks like.
In reality it's a look born of her glazed over mind as her brain melts into a happy stew as she tries to fully fathom what's happening. Obviously, she's dreaming, a very happy one, but maybe...maybe...
No. It'd be dumb to really think she's wandered into another world. She isn't a little kid anymore.
But still...
She leans closer off the windowsill, looking more and more at the ponies near her. Maybe...maybe she could just go and say hi? Could she do that? She's a cat after all, but they are ponies and they're talking so...so maybe...
And that's when she overextends herself as she cranes her neck over the windowsill and falls right onto the trashcan she had used to get up there, a metallic clang and kitty yowl resounding through the area so loudly it's impossible to ignore.
When anyone actually does bother to look in the direction of the noise, they'll see a wild-looking cat running frantically around in a circle near the trashcan it knocked over. Clearly the cat is mad or dangerous, and not just scared out of its wits at the fall and noise. Clearly.]
Re: Sakaki | Azumanga Daioh
[She doesn't care HOW damn ferocious you look, you're in a talking pony world, and of you so much as give her the stink eye she'll show you the meaning of a bad day. Pony or no pony, she could still FIGHT.]
You talk?
no subject
[That questioning tone in her voice? That tone, that sounds like it's trying to play some silly billy bullshit game while the cat just sits there, still and poised, back straight like it thinks it's hot shit?
Really is Sakaki just wondering if she can talk. Oh hey, she can. Her tail goes straight upright, and then loosens, as she adjusts to the surprise of her own voice. This is getting surreal.
Gee.
She sure hopes the pony she's talking to can tell that she wasn't trying to question her.]
no subject
[Mental checklist. Ponies talk. Right. Cat thing that could try to eat her but it better not TRY after the day she's been having can talk, check. Bearings? All over the place. Woo hoo.]
So were you a human, or were you born here?
no subject
[She doesn't know why what Mindy has to say is a surprise, but it is. Sakaki was so willing to think this was a dream. Maybe it still is a dream, but it's getting bizarre - even more than usual - in this conversation.]
I'm a human.
You're not from here, either?
[Really. Why is it that other people are ponies too getting to her? It's weird. It somehow makes things even more adorable, and yet shows how it should be unsettling. It is a bizarre feeling.]
no subject
[Other than she was done watching people die in awful ways over and over. That part she didn't mind if this...whatever the hell this was, made sense. It still didn't].
I wonder why you wound up turning into a cat and not a pony. How does that work?
no subject
Sakaki's tail starts to brush the ground in small wiping motions at Mindy's question, brow furrowing in consideration. In deep though, certainly lacking worry.]
I don't know. Maybe something went wrong...?
[Or it was a joke. Probably a joke, the more Sakaki thinks about it. She isn't cute enough to be a cat, after all.]
no subject
For you? I don't know. You seem pretty ok. If it was karma, I'd probably be a slug or something. I don't know. Maybe THOSE talk too.
[She laughed at her own stupid joke. Someone had to. Laugh].
As far as looks go, being a cat's probably not so bad. They're pretty fast, and they're natural hunters, right?
no subject
[She hadn't considered that before. Maybe she did have some kind of bad karma, from a previous life, and the cats could sense it. Maybe that's why all of them fled, Maya excluded. It is a possibility.]
You seem nice, though.
[Maybe a little aggressive and upfront, but nice. There's certainly nothing off putting about the other girl, so far. In a way, she kind of reminders Sakaki of Kagura.
Especially the focusing on the speed and the hunting skills. Cats certainly were that, and Sakaki was told that she was that, but those just weren't the traits she was interested in.
She waves a paw, slightly, in front of her as she talks.]
Yes but...cats are more than that.
no subject
[She was taking this way too easily, and that bothered her. She should have been having an attack, or screaming, or cursing (so much for that) but for right now? She was just glad that ONE part of her life was over. No more oppressive peacekeepers or crappy mentor life to deal with. She could actually LIVE, even if it was as a pony.
Why was that the actual thing that was crazy to her?]
Yeah, I guess. They also yowl and scratch things and can be lazy, if you want to go that route.
Re: Sakaki | Azumanga Daioh
ADORABLE KITTY.
There might be a pony trying to follow kitty now.]
Heeeey! Hey!!
no subject
In reality, Sakaki is just dumbfounded at what to do. Should...should she go to the pony calling her? What if the pony wants to pet her? Does Sakaki know what to do when pet? Is she a good cat to pet?
Truly, these are the dilemmas all cats must face, and Sakaki is gaining a greater and greater appreciation for them.]
no subject
Its ok, pretty cat. I won't hurt you.
no subject
Sakaki looks around, this way and that, but there's no other cat to be found. She couldn't mean...
Sakaki looks up at Anna, tilting her head a little.]
Me?
[She has to be sure.]
no subject
... Yamamayaa.
no subject
Are you Japanese, too? You're not from here?
[She's relieved to know that she isn't the only one in this situation...and just a teensy bit disappointed that all the ponies she's met here so far have been other people. Surely some of the talking ponies here must be legitimate, born and bred talking ponies.]
no subject
[That's somewhat a relief.]
I am... part. And no, I'm not from here. A number of us actually aren't.
[Naomi doesn't notice the disappointment. Instead, she's looking around, searching the ground, and wondering there this new person... cat's scroll was so she could begin becoming more familiar with this place.]
no subject
Why are we here?
[Not how did we get here. That part doesn't matter so much to Sakaki, at least not right now. If this is still a dream - and it's becoming less and less likely that it is - the how certainly doesn't matter, and if it isn't a dream, then it's not as important as the purpose. And there has to be a purpose, right? You don't just show up in a world of talking ponies for no reason.
She looks at Naomi a bit more before looking around and searching the ground herself.]
What are you looking for?
no subject
I'm not entirely sure. All I can tell you is that we were brought here by the Pale Pony, or Calice. At least, that is parroted information. Some think the two might be two different beings, but most seem to have reached the consensus they're one in the same.
[... Yes, she would notice that searching.]
When you arrive, you're give a scroll in order to keep in contact with the others here. It's much like a computer only... magic scroll.
[That still sounds weird to her... saying magic scroll.]
