"No, man, get this: Every native and off-worlder here has nothin' but damn glowing things to say about the princesses. They ain't born in this world- they're made, after they've grown as a person a bunch... kinda like our Personas."
But with a shrug he looked away. "Trick is workin' out where they are right now. They seem weirdly neighborly, but two of 'em kinda control the sun n' moon rising and falling. That'd make 'em pretty busy."
no subject
"So they just move around..." And her voice trailed, eyes opening a margin wider in disbelief. "The sun and moon? Does that mean this planet doesn't have a normal rotation pattern??"
That's a nerve-wracking thought. The planet's overall well-being was in the hand of two Princesses.

"I mean, ponies change the seasons themselves and make festivals out of it. Ain't much of a stretch to wager somepony--" He paused, cringed.
"Somebody makes it daytime or nighttime. But they're kinda like... gods, I guess. Ya live a thousand years and you're not really normal anymore, right?"
no subject
"I assume not, but Kanji-kun, you do realize this planet is too dependent on this entire society staying together as it is. With an entity like the one that brought us here, if those two disappear, this world will be lost... that's probably why they move around as often as they do."
no subject
"I ain't the best at letters, but maybe I could write one asking for er, an audience, right? Then maybe I could wear a tie or fix myself up some. I'm told my face kinda scares people off even here..."
no subject
"... That could work." She gave Kanji a look of confusion as though she didn't know what he was talking about in regards to his face. "Well, before royalty, it would be a good idea to be presentable."
no subject
Kanji blinked, and stepped back, canting his head this way and that. "...Awesome, those goggles look great! Been up real high yet?"

She would have considered flying a short distance, but he arrived before reaching a decision.
no subject
"It looked okay so far... uh, but you should probably open your eyes for the next try."
no subject
She would try to have her eyes open this time, but was it really so bad? No one else was really flying today, and if another Pegasus were, wouldn't they avoid her?
no subject
"Then I should probably get outta your way, huh? No use crashin' into me."
no subject
Naoto shook her head. "No. Actually, now that you're here, do you mind helping me?"
no subject
But hey, he was a resourceful sort. Shoot!
no subject
She drew at the ground with a hoof, head dropping, but eyes slowly rising to look at him. "So... if you could help me when it seems like I might crash? I would appreciate it."
no subject
"...Got it. Give it another try!" He back-stepped to give her more space and tested the snow beneath his hooves, packing it down to a firmer surface. He needed to give the seal a quick break on short notice.
no subject
Nodding to him, she took a step back herself even as he did and opened her wings. They were definitely meant for a bigger mare, but she was managing. One flap, two, three, and soon, she was lifting off the ground, watching the ground sink away.
no subject
Just his luck, one was picking up now, less breezy and more a chilly gust. Should she fight the wind, or let it carry a little while? He wasn't a pegasus... h-how did they do it?
no subject
no subject
"Keep it up! Higher altitudes get really freakin' windy...!" If she needed to bulk up the muscles responsible for her wing-flapping, he could help her with that. But right now she probably needed to work out keeping her aerial balance.
no subject
Leveling off, she hovered there, flying against the wind, her tail twitching. Well, that didn't steer... was it like galloping? Turning her head to navigate left or right? Hooves forward, she attempted to tilt her head to the left, feeling her body follow.
no subject
...H-he can't let her fall!
Squaring his stance to keep himself steady, he observed her trying to steer, and wondered how the pegasi do it. He noticed they were a bit like superheroes, one or both hooves forward and steering to move through the air. Weeeird.
no subject
It picked up and she pushed; however, the detective felt the frost in her fur. Her wings were beginning to slow down as she tired herself. Hooves pushing down and head ducking, she tried to drop, but Naoto slowed her wings at the inappropriate time - the high wind caught her wings as they rose up, knocking her back.
"AH!"
no subject
The makeshift kirin erupted from his soul with a thunderous roar, galloping on nothing but wind as the Persona looped in beneath the pegasus, offering his back as a landing platform.
