After an elaborate transformation sequence (surely elongated to impress), she stands proud in her magical girl costume. ] I got a spear.

[ And she does. ]

Uh... okay. If we're going to make this a big deal...

Concentrate, concentrate... whoop OW! [Kamala rubbed her head as she hit herself on the sign nearby.] Totally bigger than you now.

Doesn' matter. [ She resumed chowing down on the cupcake, staring up at the now-quite-a-bit-taller pony. ] I can still kick yer flank.

[Returning to her normal size, she rolled her eyes.] I Teamed up with Wolverine.

Stupid. She probably doesn't even know who that is, knowing this place. Memo to self: stop thinking like everyone knows names.

But uh, nice spear?

Ya did not.

[ She totally knows who that is. ] Liar. Now yer just tryin' ta come up with ways ya could be better than me. [ Kyouko scowls and stuffs the rest of the cupcake into her mouth, smearing chocolate all over her face. ]

No way, it's totally true! I teamed up with Wolverine and he bought me a gyro when it was all ov--wait. You know who Wolverine is? Are you from my world?

[Kamala digs into her saddle bags.] Come on, please, don't die on me. Don't give me that lol low battery...AH!

Here, proof! [And she held up her cell phone with the selfie she took with her and Wolverine.]

[ Kyouko stares. ] Okay first where'd ya get a cellphone. [ She is dying for arcade games. ]

Second yeah I know who he is but he's ... ya know. Not real. So tha's kinda a mindscrew.

First, It came with me along with the contents of my backpack. [Ms Marvel gear, phone with possibly a billion missed calls from her parents and Bruno, dog treats for Lockjaw...]

And second, I come from a world where he's real. Carol Danvers once saved me when I was younger.

I don' know who that is. [ Kyouko comes from a time when Ms Danvers isn't a widely known superhero. ] Wish a game came with me... all I got was a dumb box o' Pocky I ate ages ago.

You don't know Carol? She's Ms Marvel, now Captain Marvel! [Weird that she'd know Wolverine like every other teenager in the universe but not Carol.]

Yeah, well, my phone's running out of power so I can't even play Tetris. Sorry.

No. 'm I supposed ta? Wolverine's ev'rywhere. There's been like four movies.

[ She tosses the phone back. ]

... Well, kinda? She's part of the Avengers. But I wouldn't put it past hollywood to make four movies of Wolverine, even if there's still stuff like rights and merchandising. I'll bet Iron Man never had a problem with that.

So yer from a world of superheroes?

[ She sits her butt down - yes, even with the magical girl dress on - and digs in her pockets for something else to eat. ] That why ya've got powers?

Yeah. It is. For sixteen years I was plain old Kamala Khan, a pakistani-american in Jersey. And then something called a Terrigen Bomb went off in my town and I got soaked in it. Turns out I'm part alien and the gas woke up my heritage.

Part alien! [ Kyouko snorts out a laugh, finally finding a couple of apples in her pockets. ]

I made a deal with someone I shouldn't've. But, ya know. Same result.

[ She tossed one of the apples at Kamala. ] Here. Want one?

Man, sounds like origin stories abound. And thanks.

[Taking a bite of the fruit, Kamala thought for a moment she died and gone to heaven.] Whoa... wha... this is the best apple in the world. It tastes incredible! What'd they put into it?

Uh. [ ??? ] Apples.

[ What. ] S'pretty good. [ Kyouko will eat almost literally anything, though. ]

It's just I've never tasted an apple this fresh. The local grocer doesn't have anything like this, and it doesn't even feel waxy. I'm guessing there's no pesticides in it either.

Yer prob'ly right.

[ She turns her own apple over in her palm, examining it. ] Damn. Never noticed that.

Kinda glad about that. Even if I'm not at home, there's no reason not to eat halal. [And Kamala took another juicy bite of it.]

Yer Muslim? [ That she recognizes. ] Ya won' haveta eat much meat here, don' worry. Th'ponies are vegetarian anyway.

Yeah, my dad brought the family over before I was born. My brother remembers the old country but never really got into the whole spirit of America thing like I did.

Heh, and I see they eat tons of cake. I could POSSIBLY break for cake, if only for it being obviously made from natural ingredients.

Isn' it the best? They eat SO many sweets here.

Got a job at Bon Bon's along with my boyfriend. Ya should come over.

He a bear too? I mean, nothing against different species but there's a lot of ponies here, so the chance of finding an unattached bear must have been astronomical.

Bon Bon's... isn't that the sweet shop? Oh boy, Ammi would have a field day with that. But again, natural ingredients. I doubt anything I eat here would be against the teachings.

[She shrugged.] Muslim lyfe. Like thug life but with more mosques.

Heh - well, I usedta be a pony, too. Got changed a little while back though. ... Pony ... lyfe, I guess.
