(Twilight waves a hoof in dismissal.)

It's alright, princess; my last memories from home were Shining Armor's and Cadence's wedding. Then I spent nearly two years in a virtual town where I learned I'm a clone of the real Twilight Sparkle...and then I found myself here, in one of the many Equestrias in existence, where I learned I was going to become a princess if not for the fact my origins as a clone steers me in a completely different path of destiny.

I hope your travels weren't as weary as mine.

[The news comes as little surprise to Celestia, as used to time, space, and universe shenanigans as she is. It was still an interesting bit if information, however.]

I have heard of Mayfield before, yes. From what I know of it, I am glad you made it out safely. As for me, I was removed from Equestria shortly after the defeat of King Sombra and placed on a colonial starship. I rode with it for a while, until it settled on a planet as a colony. I decided to acquire a ship of my own and take a crew to help me find Equestria, or at least some version of it, once more, despite the claims I had heard of it being destroyed.

The search lasted well over a century, during which I discovered that the universe is not as kind a place as many would like to believe. I have been forced to do things I am not proud of for the sake of the mission, and my crew.

I suppose, though, that my goal has indeed been met. Yet, I did not put much thought into what I would do once I arrived... rather odd for me, don't you think?

Not necessarily. After being apart from home for so long, you don't need much more thought into what you'd do when you returned except be there. Catch up on what's happened while you were away, meeting with old friends, make new ones...and even if you did have a plan, there's a readjusting period to go through first.

At least you got to see it one more time, right?
thesunislaw: (Don't worry about it~)

[personal profile] thesunislaw 2014-02-26 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose you are correct. Catching up does sound good, even if it is probable I may not be able to stay long. It would appear that I am here without my crew, and I do have an obligation to them, as well. It would not be right to simply leave unannounced.

I'm sure they could handle themselves for a few days, however. Is there anything new going on about town?
magicalrealist: (I like books)

(Twilight nods.)

Quite a lot, actually. There's an ambiguous figure of death who's likely responsible for the presence of every offworlder in this Equestria, an offworld overlord aiming to take over Equestria, Chrysalis lost her crown to a changeling queen from the future and is now Spike's assistant, Ponyville shares half of its population with the aforementioned changelings, there's a gossip magazine that spreads enough doctored truths to make enemies out of every offworlder here and on top of that, a stolen weather gem from a griffon weather factory has put Equestria and Griffalter on the verge of political war since they believe the thief to be a pegasus.

All in all, nothing's really changed.

...

You have been busy, it seems.

[She's confident that everything can get sorted out, but knowing one's kingdom has been so active in the time she's been 'absent' is a slight cause for concern.]

It sounds remarkably familiar to the state of the Thor, summoning refugees from other worlds seemingly at random. I wonder if it is similar phenomena?
magicalrealist: (Serious letter time.)

[personal profile] magicalrealist 2014-02-26 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
It's a trend that's been going on for longer than anyone can remember. It's more than Mayfield or the Thor or a space satellite or a military training school or even an alternate earth. They all do the same exact thing through very different means...it's terrifying, thinking of how many places have done this and how many others there could be, especially when one of them is modeled after our home.

The best we can do is resolve them one at a time...or at least try to end this Equestria's interdimensional dilemma.

One step at a time is best. No use worrying about things we cannot control at the moment.

At the least, we have the advantage of a prime suspect, and thus a singular motive. The incidents of the Thor did not have that sort of predictability.
magicalrealist: (Give her a moment.)

[personal profile] magicalrealist 2014-02-26 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
I imagine that must've been difficult for everyone to get through without having anyone to blame.
thesunislaw: (No escape from her watch.)

[personal profile] thesunislaw 2014-02-26 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
We had more to worry about than how the appearances and disappearances were happening. They seemed to be related to the ship itself, though that explanation left a lot to be desired.
magicalrealist: (That's not how wedding rehearsals end)

[personal profile] magicalrealist 2014-02-27 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't imagine there being many answers when space travel is involved.

Things are...slightly more concrete here, at least. As mentioned, we have a suspect, but that's about it. As was the case with Mayfield, we just have to wait for her to make her next move.
thesunislaw: (Sigh...)

[personal profile] thesunislaw 2014-02-27 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Patience is a virtue, I suppose.

[Celestia sounds a bit less than enthused about that, having become used to being able to get what she wants by either proper negotiation, going through the right channels, or force.]
