A library? I will be certain to make that one of my earliest stops. If it has something useful about this world, then it would be invaluable.

The local library has common lore. If you care to do more extensive research, there is a royal library two hours away by train. If you go that route, I suggest you ensure you have plenty of time available and possibly something to ensure against getting lost.

Well, considering this place is also not home, once I get settled and some things in order, I will have nothing but time. At least comparatively.

I wouldn't count on that too much. Calling this town lively at times would be on the optimistic side.

I guess even with out random events things still manage to keep fairly busy here, huh?

With this many offworlders, it's only natural. And this town seems to have a knack for being the center of larger scale events. As an example, we recently had to deal with an entire cloud based city being brought here by angry griffons from another nation attempting to steal it due to an artifact they used to control the weather being stolen by a pegasus resentful of them due to conflicting mythologies surrounding the origins of the object.

By recently deal, it sounds like you've brought that to a close already. However, I do take your point about that sort of thing being an example of some of the level of things to be expected here, no?

*Margulis is pretty sure the griffons' story has a better chance of being true, given what his own research turned up. Not that he doesn't still think stealing the city was dumb.*

More or less...though I hope to avoid anything on an international scale in the future.

And one more thing you might find of interest...there's a dungeon here, located beneath the royal library. I've heard rumors of objects from other worlds being found down there.

Like Caliburn? Or does it actually have a cohesive structure?

I have yet to visit it myself, so I couldn't tell you. However, I have seen a recording of someone else's visit and the monsters seem more varied yet generic than Shadows.

I'm surprised you haven't delved your way in there. I guess you haven't had the time then?

I've been busy familiarizing myself both with the local culture and the innate abilities of my new body. I had to take some time to adjust to fighting without the use of hands, as well.

Unicorns in this world might not be as fearsome looking as those in ours, or capable of bringing one back from death's door, but they do have the most versatile of the native magic.

Then I suppose I shouldn't mention the fact that the place I spent my time between Prospero and here gave my Ethers a not insignificant boost.

Though I suppose I should at least mention the fact that superhuman powers, magical and technological alike, seem to be at half their overall power here.

Well, that's not a total loss, better then what we had in Prospero.

That does include our Personae...although in my experience so far, we should be grateful we can still summon them at all.

Black Rider was never really powerful in the first place, so really that's not a big deal. As for our powers from home, I don't really know how to experiment to see how powerful they are considering what they are.

I can think of a few ways to test your baseline physical enhancements. Surprisingly, this place actually has a functional dojo.
