'Tis the name of someone not of an equine world! Mysterious beings were ripped apart from their own worlds over a year ago! Since then, many have taken temporary sanctuary within this world, hoping that one day they shall be able to return home!

[Trixie scoffs.]

The Great and Powerful Trixie hath returned here many a time within the past year! And Speaking of... that Saddle Arabia visit... Trixie feels compelled to warn you of yet another devious and monstrous stallion: Tails. He's a monster who also put on something as horrid as Trixie once did. She suggests to avoid him at all cost, and you are to recognize him by his two tails and orange coat.

[chasing_clouds]

Well at least everypony has been giving them a little more solace.

[She makes a face.] So another Alicorn Amulet-like device floating around huh? I'll make a note of that. Two tails huh? I can make sure to avoid him then.

Seriously though, somepony had better go check Tartarus. I... don't want to be stripped of my magic again.

[Trixie raises am eyebrow.]

Stripped of your magic? Trixie knows nothing of the sort. Of the incidents Trixie has seen so far, there was a dreadful Changeling invasion then integration, deadly Shadows and Shadow selves had roamed free... Trixie still wishes she possessed Andras... and finally, Cloudsdale was nearly stolen by griffons because a thief had stolen their weather gem.

'Tis a wonder why Ponyville is still standing.

But enough about that, Trixie demands you to tell her of this Tirek individual.

Yeah, Ponyville almost wasn't unscathed. The library was torched by Tirek when he fought Princess Twilight. Tirek was so strong he could absorb all magic; earth pony, unicorn, pegasus... Discord... even the power of the four alicorns.

He's a centuar, and according to what Princess Twilight told us, he came to Equestria centuries ago with his brother Scorpan. I was with the Wonderbolts tying to defeat him when he sucked out all of our magic, leaving us helpless. He grew stronger, more dangerous... it was only because the Princess and her friends had some kind of trump card that they defeated him with friendship magic. The Elements of Harmony were given up months ago, so we had to launch an all points assault on Tirek and we all fell...

[Tirek... absorbs others' magic? The implications do not sound good for Trixie.]

'Twould be no sweat for Trixie to beat... but that absorbing magic power sounds very dangerous. ...The Alicorn Amulet must never reach him. Ever.

NO! NO you don't understand, once he's within range, it's ALL OVER. He absorbed fifty pegasus's magic at ONCE. He absorbed all of the alicorn magic. He consumes all magic, and for a while Discord was helping him until Tirek turned on Discord and absorbed HIS magic.

HIS MAGIC. The EMBODIMENT OF CHAOS AND DISHARMONY. He just opened his mouth and sucked him dry. It's a miracle any of us are alive.

And many tell Trixie she exaggerates. Such a being would not even hope to be able to absorb that thing's magic.

[Yeah, kind of hard to believe such an outrageous claim of Discord getting his magic absorbed.]

But as you wish, Trixie shall keep distance from such a treacherous and unviably approachable monster. After all, Trixie's magic is her own and nopony else shall have it!

Believe me, you're not doing yourself any favors not knowing about Tirek. This... centuar, isn't even a person. He's just too evil for that. Flitter still has multiple nightmares a night about him.

If he gets a hold of you, there's nowhere to run. He doesn't care what you are, he will take your magic.

That implies such a beast is able to locate The Great and Powerful Trixie.

Don't say I didn't warn you. This guy is pretty much evil.

[Trixie haughtily chuckles.]

There should be no need to worry, my enthusiastic admirer! Trixie shall always remain unharmed! 'Tis the very job of the mare before your very eyes to ensure naught a thing happens to her!

Well all right. Just... be careful. Tirek was, is, dangerous. If this is another Equestria, and Princess Twilight's castle isn't here, then we're still potentially in for it.
