Kreutzer | Gundemonium (Wonderful Worlds AU)

[ponykreutzer]

(The peculiarity of waking up as a colorful horse didn't seem to bother this new arrival at all. In fact, Kreutzer couldn't seem less concerned about that if she tried. Instead, she tried to keep to herself and simply watch the other ponies go about their day, whether they were regulars or new arrivals themselves.

Unfortunately, the world offered no UG for her to shift to and leaning against a wall was particularly awkward for a quadruped, so her regular watching habits wouldn't do. That and it's hard for her to blend in with the crowd when this unicorn is wearing a brown cloak, has a hunting bow on her back and a very unnatural pair of wings, even for ponies. Still, a job's a job, right?)

[shy_kindness]

[The Flutters were walking around when they spot someone familiar.]

...Kreutzer?

[ponykreutzer]

(A pause. That's a familiar face and a familiar voice...it gets a light smile out of her.)

...I take it this is your world, isn't it, Shy?

[cruel_kindness]

[Instead of an answer, you're greeted with a hug by a Fluttercruel.]

I thought we would never see you again...

[ponykreutzer]

(Kreutzer returns the hug, her smile fading a little.)

I'm glad we can still meet, regardless. Has it really been that long?

[cruel_kindness]

[Fluttercruel enjoys the hug.]

It feels like it... You didn't arrive when we did...

[ponykreutzer]

I suppose time becomes that fickle when you're part of the Reaper's Game. It follows its own set of rules.

Speaking of which...this isn't a regular location shift. I can't return to the UG here.

[cruel_kindness]

Yeah, we noticed. Our pins don't work, either. And...

[luttercruel looks in the direction of The Everfree Forest.]

...There's some bucking weird pull toward The Everfree... Do you feel it?

[ponykreutzer]

(She nods.)

That entire area feels strange...almost as if it's alive. Not in the same way as the other worlds were, but as in its own entity, almost literally alive. Is it truly so...?

[cruel_kindness]

...It's more like the weather and animals aren't controlled there. There's also dangerous things like Cockatrice, Timber Wolves, and Manticore there.

[She shakes their head a little.]

Usually, we'd trust it, but we've never had this pull there... I think the higher-ups have something to do with this...

[ponykreutzer]

Dangerous wildlife I can handle. Higher-up interference...not quite. Are you sure it's the higher-ups?

[shy_kindness]

[Fluttershy takes control.]

We don't know for sure... There's something happening, and I think Fluttercruel's blaming them because she's still angry with them...

...We're sort of scared to go to our house...

[Fluttershy shuffles a hoof awkwardly.]

...I can't blame her, Fluttershy; they left a lot of questions unanswered, amongst everything else they did.

(And boy, is there a list of things they did wrong.)

How about we go together? I'll cover you.

(She emphasizes her statement by levitating the bow off of her back.)

[shy_kindness]

[Fluttershy's wings tighten a little.]

B- but the pull...!

[ponykreutzer]

It needs a proper investigation. It's our job as Reapers to keep Players on track and that means dealing with outside interferences. If this is a potential threat, I want to know about it.

Besides...we can't have you unable to go back to your own home. You've been apart from it long enough.

[cruel_kindness]

[Fluttershy blinks and stands in place for a few seconds. Fluttercruel takes over.]

She's right, Fluttershy. The sooner we figure this out, the faster we'll be able to get to our home. Besides, we can't crash in Marshmallow's place for too long.

[Fluttershy cautiously and slowly comes to agree with Cruelly.]

...Let's go.

[ponykreutzer]

(With a nod, Kreutzer rushes off towards the forest, looking back to make sure the Flutters are keeping close.)

You mentioned the forest being dangerous. Has it always been that way?

[cruel_kindness]

As long as anypony could remember.
