Yu Narukami | Persona 4

[foalarcana]

[There was a Halloween party -- err... Nightmare Night? -- coming up, and someone needed to cut up the kindling for the bonfire. Yu really wasn't sure how he was supposed to do that, though; he didn't have hands, so he couldn't hold an axe, and he didn't know how the heck he was supposed to swing one with his mouth.]

[He hoofed at the ground, trying to think. He could just... give it a damn good kick; that would probably split the wood, right? Looking at the long line of wood to split however... there was no way he would be able to get that all done any time quick.]

[Barely a second later, it was like a lightbulb went off; he had an easy solution, right in his own soul. Yu dug his hooves in, calling on his arcana.]

Izanagi!

[Don't mind him; him and his Persona will just be splitting wood, and Yu is currently very grateful that Izanagi maintained the blades on his back hooves.]

[Oh well that's a familiar face and he beams up when he sees Izanagi.] Yu!

[He flies down and waves over to them.] Looks like you figured out how to get your persona out.

[Yu perked up at the familiar voice, smashing a log, before turning a happy smile up to the bright orange-ish pegasus.]

Hey, Tails.

[He nodded toward Izanagi doing his share of the hard work.]

I guess it was easier after being away for awhile.

Maybe. I was starting to think it was because your persona didn't change with you when you first got here.

[He looks over to the wood.] Are you building something?

Trying to get the bonfire wood ready for Hallo-- Nightmare Night?

[He's not even sure if that's right...]

[ponymechanic]

Nightmare Night. It is kind of a weird name, but it fits. Need any help with it?

[foalarcana]

If you don't mind lending a hoof. It's a pretty big pile…

[They must intend for the bonfire to be seen by the entire world.]

[ponymechanic]

[He nods and lands down on the ground. He folds his wings and goes over to the wood pile.] So how much left do you think we need?

[foalarcana]

Not sure.

[Yu hoofed at some of the split wood, frowning.]

I think they want this to be huge. I'm not even sure why I need to split it.

[ponymechanic]

To keep warm? Sitting near a bonfire is pretty cosy and fun. [He goes over to a tree that has a split on it. He looks up and down it for a moment before giving an experimental kick. While it widens the crack, it doesn't quite bring it down.] It's too bad we can't use any axes. Even if we did though, that might make our neck ache after a while.

Yeah, I had a bit of trouble with my sword when I was first here.

[Yu braced himself, before bringing up his hind legs to crack one of the old trees. He galloped away before it could fall on him, wincing as it let out a loud thud.]

[Izanagi came up a moment later, splitting the wood into manageable chunks.]

I really miss having hands.

[ponymechanic]

[He cringes at the thud.]

Me too. It kinda makes me wish I was a unicorn instead of a pegasus. Having telekinesis would be rather handy about now.

[He makes another kick at the cracked tree and dashes away so that he doesn't get crushed by the falling tree. He grabs the chucks of wood and puts it in the wood pile.]

[foalarcana]

[Yu offered him a smile.]

Hey, at least you have wings. If I didn't have Izanagi, I wouldn't know what to do.

True and being able to walk on clouds is pretty neat. I don't think I could summon mine without the fog from the tv world around.

[Which would be very very bad. They would be pretty much screwed, wild card be damned.]

Not that mine could help out much unless you needed a fire or some healing.

[Tails goes to another older tree and proceeds to kick it.]

[While Yu was gathering firewood, another pony was doing almost the same thing. Actually Yukiko was pulling a wagon with her own kindling; Hoovesweek magazines. They make a good fire that's for sure!]

How's it coming so far?

Good.

[Yu paused, ducking down as a stray cut of wood from Izanagi's hind legs went flying his way, before turning toward her.]

What are you using?

[…magazines?]

Just some papers I found lying around.

[She's doing everypony a favor for the moment. Plus it'll make her feel good.]

Papers?

[But... they're whole magazines! Excuse him while he flips through one, because now he's curious.]

I hear they're very good at burning.

[It's just trash stuff. Not Yukiko's favorite thing.]

Really.

[He raised an eyebrow, turning toward her.]

I'm not going to find an article about you in there, am I?
