/holiday spirit intensifies

So because I'm sure it's at the front of everyone's minds, what with shadowplot and all..

  • What are your characters' Hearth's Warming* plans? This can also be a post where you plot Hearth's Warming plans with other people.
  • What are your characters getting their CR for Hearth's Warming*? If someone's at a loss of what to do, this could also be a good place to handwave some conversations and/or tell a mun OOCly what your characters like.
*Replace "Hearth's Warming" with Christmas, Hanukkah (although it's going to be a very late Hanukkah), Kwanzaa, Festivus, Pretend to Be a Time Traveler Day, winter solstice, or any number of holidays from your character's world, if you wish.

As Nikil said, "religious" Christmas is mostly a nonentity due to Western Christianity being more of a novelty in Japan even now, but the country has, in modern days, appropriated the commercialized version as a thing to celebrate. If Hiro isn't the type to be social (I haven't seen Heroes, so I don't know how much of a hikkikomori the kid is, but it and being an otaku tend to go hand in hand) then he probably wouldn't celebrate it.

It's worth noting that if he celebrates Japanese public holidays, Akihito's day (that is to say, the Emperor's Birthday) is two days before Christmas. I figure the Hearth's Warming pageant is around then, too, so there's potential for mild confusion if he's invited to Canterlot only for it not to be a celebration for the princesses?

Nah, Hiro's actually p social. Even though he doesn't really have many friends in Japan, he gets around because of his space/time powers and gained lots of friends in America. He's just a huge nerd and will most likely celebrate commercialized!Xmas.

Heh. That sounds funny and I would definitely like to play out the confusion. He can even get an Equestrian flag and wave it whenever the Princesses pass and confuse them.
