Spyro The Dragon / Original Spyro Game Trilogy

[ENTER THE DRAGON.

Or, to be anticlimactic in the extreme, a cute, small dragon with a large head and a dragonfly friend.]

Huh. So that's where that portal leads.

[The dragonfly zips to the side with a buzz. The dragon looks around, wings flapping idly. Despite the weird entrance, it looks like a pretty standard world, with the one exception that there aren't gems just lying around everywhere. Some remote world of Avalar he never visited, maybe?]

Guess someone just forgot to label what world this is. C'mon, Sparx, let's get goin'.

[Strange place, stranger inhabitants? Time to go exploring!]

[Spyro would soon get to see a large white and red dragon napping in the sun... with a few birds perched on his horns. Skyfire had quite given up on chasing them off, they always came back anyways. He'd decided that he could live with the company, provided that they didn't try to nest there.]

Zzzzzzz....

[Another dragon! Probably wasn't Avalar then, but a dragon Spyro hasn't actually met before is not something he runs across every day. Or... considering he was there for the hatching, ever. Although he's a little oddly proportioned, that is an unmistakably draconian figure.

Who Spyro gallops right up to, sliding to a halt just in front of. Is he really asleep, or just partly; that is the question here.

Although the fact the dragon's letting fodder birds use him as a makeshift branch probably hints that the stranger's out like a light, curiosity about this newcomer insists Spyro make sure of that.

Ever hear of 'let sleeping dragons lie'?

Cause apparently this dragon didn't actually get that memo. Yeah, sleeping, but new dragon what.]

[An ear perks at the sound of someone around, and both perk to attention at the sound of Spyro's voice. He can't help but give a large yawn and stretch out a bit, working the kinks out of his back and startling most of the birds off of his horns.

Cracking open a bright blue eye he can't help but be a little surprised to see a new dragon here.]

Hello...

[Skyfire, socially awkward? ... Very much so.]

I've never seen you around before! Who're you?

[Socially awkward, meet enthusiastic kid.]

My name is Skyfire. Might I ask your name?

[He's now fully awake and rather curious. Was this dragon a native here?]

I'm Spyro, and that's Sparx.

[Spyro stretches his nose towards the dragonfly hovering around him, getting buzz of conformation.

So why were other dragons living in an unmarked portal outside of the Dragon Realms, is the next question... hmmm.]

I didn't know there were other dragons outside of the Dragon Realms! What is this place, anyway?

[Skyfire gives him a small smile, but then looks confused.]

Dragon Realms? I'm afraid I've never heard of such a place. [He paused and then admitted] Granted, until I ended up here I had never heard of Equistera or Ponyville either...

[Here's one pony that's still having a hard time getting used to well...being a frigging horse and all. He can barely get a handle on walking on four legs. Look at him, struggling not to fall over, like it's an acrobat act.

And of course spotting this purple dragon thing. It already sends his unstable sarcastic frame of mine into DONE territory.]

Yeah sure, dragons.

Of course, like I couldn't be crazy enough. Thanks, brain!

You got a problem with dragons?

[Cause he doesn't have a problem with horse things. Should he have a problem with horse things?]

Oh yeah? [Yep, it looks like we found a problem here!

Spyro paws the ground, ducking his head briefly to show off he's got some really sharp horns and spines here.]

You wanna find out how real I am?

And now Cameron has completely flopped over on his four legs. Cameron squeezes his eyes tight.

Oh god what if I'm talking to a biker or something and I imagined him like some kind of dragon.

Cause that'd totally happen.]

N-no. I like keeping the mystery...spices things up, y'know?

[The 'mystery' comment earns this guy a snort. Yeah, right. This 'mystery' is right here in front of you, pal. Get used to it. He does back off, though; point made, Spyro's existence isn't challenged.

That said, he still does not like you whatsoever, weirdo.]

Yeah, sure. So why "shouldn't" dragons exist, anyway?

[Are you asking--are you askin--oohhhhh my god. Oh whoop there it goes, there goes the last shred of logic in this world.]

Because dragons have wings that couldn't lift them and they breathe fire and I'm sorry but I don't see a dragon moonwalking in downtown Chicago, ok?

But I guess we're not in Chicago. For all I know, I'm the middle of apple Oz!

Nah. We just don't have a label maker that big!

[She's just behind him now. She does that.]

[Spyro practically flips into the air, landing with a thud and shaking his head to clear it. What? Who's startled? Who said anything about being snuck up on? He meant to do that. Totally. Cough.]

"Label maker"? Can't you just use magic?

[sailorlaughter]

That sounds a lot harder than using a label maker. Unless we find a unicorn with a special talent for labeling!

[All those words, separately, meant something. Together, not so much.]

(It isn't long before Spyro notices another dragon going about the town. This one's human-sized and donning a coat as red as his scales.

He's also playing an electric guitar. As in the guitar occasionally sparks with electricity. That's totally nothing weird, right?)

[It's not too long before the red dragon's attracted himself an audience. In a manner of speaking, anyway; if a smaller, fidgety purple dragon with a dragonfly counts as one.]

Nice riff! How do ya get it to spark like that?

(Yes, that totally counts as an audience. Dante's definitely counting it as one.)

Demonic guitar. Never leave home without it.

(It's not as bad as it sounds; honest!)

[He WAS going to wheedle for secrets on how to do cool things on electric guitars. But if it's got demonic attached to anywhere in its name you can forget it. Nope. So much nope.]

On second thought, I think I prefer slightly less electric guitars.

Relax; this one's under control. Besides, the real secret to giving a guitar its spark is giving it to someone who'll strum those strings as if they were those to his heart.

(Yeah, turns out this dragon's part dork, too. Whoops.)
