Donna Noble | Doctor Who

[There's a rather disgruntled-looking Earth Pony on scroll when it comes to life. Her mane is red and her coat a dusty purple. She has on a brown jacket and that's about all that's available to see before she prods at the viewing screen.]

All right, I've been to some weird places, but they were in my own body. Doctor, if this is another one of those translation things your TARDIS has got on, then believe me, mister, we are leaving as soon as I find you. My friend Analise got bucked off a horse when she was 10 and I am not going to wind up fodder for her next rant on the subject. I've had to listen to that story about a thousand times, and it doesn't get any more interesting. You'd think getting bucked off a horse? Hours of entertainment! You'd be wrong.

Now, where are you? And- [She glances up.] Oh, my God. That horse is flying! [Her face lights up.] Doctor! Doctor, there are flying horses here!

[callmeyork]

[Doctor? TARDIS? No... couldn't be. That's a matter for another time. But hey, Donna! Some other pony, this one blue and with various facial scars (and a suit?) pops back on the scroll.]

If that's your reaction to just seeing them, then it's a shame you didn't end up one on your own.

[That's certainly an odd-looking pony. Very rugged.]

Well, if you're going to turn into something four-legged might as well be a pegasus over- [Another glance away.] A unicorn! What is this place? Some sort of fairytale?

... Something like that? I'm not quite sure yet; haven't been around too long. But it's nice to see that at least I'm not the only one, er... "transplanted".

What, you're not usually a horse, either? Is anyone? Is this some sort of... horse land where people get turned into horses for a laugh?

[He gets a look past him.]

Is your tail a tie? Hah!

[Ever more delightful, this place.]

[sailorlaughter]

I KNOW right? This is AWESOME!

[...that horse is just tied to a bunch of balloons. But it still counts!]

[How does that even work? She's gotten used to not asking with the Doctor, but balloons?]

That really works? Where can I get balloons? [Because when in Rome.]

[sailorlaughter]

Oh! Here, you can have mine since you're new! AND I have a Welcome Cupcake for you...

[Pinkie flails her legs about in an effort to reach the ground.]

...y'know, whenever I land!

[The pink pony is charming, incredibly so. Donna trots along below her, looking up.]

Does everyone here fly around, then? That's brilliant, that is! I'm Donna. Who're you?

[sailorlaughter]

Just the pegasus ponies, mostly! And the griffons and dragons and changelings and me, 'cause I've got a lot of balloons and a Pinkiecopter!

My name's Pinkie Pie! [She latches onto a nearby lamppost and starts pulling herself down to the ground.] Great to meet you, Donna!

[soulofblue]

[A blue unicorn (with slightly disconcerting red eyes) peers out from the other side of the scroll.]

You know the Doctor?

Has be been out causing trouble? [She notes the horn and grins.] Oh, you are cute. Yes, I know him. Brown hair, long streak of nothing in a pinstripe suit? I've been traveling with him an age.

[soulofblue]

Oh! Well, there's two of him here - two different hims, I mean. One of them has a sort of spiky mane, and the other one kinda...flops.

[He demonstrates both these manestyles with somewhat awkward hoof gestures.] Both brown. Their coats are different colors though.

[She wrinkles her snout.]

Two of him? What's he gone and done to get cloned? Hardly enough of him for the one, let alone a pair.

[soulofblue]

I -

[Now, POLLO knows that the earth-pony Doctor's a clone, but he also knows how he feels about having that spread around. And maybe she just said that because there were two of them, and doesn't really mean it.]

- well, I don't know exactly. I think they might just be different regenerations, or maybe from alternate universes? They're definitely alternates from the Doctor I used to know, neither of them recognized me. [Only a little sad about that fact, now. He's gotten over it.]

[That's...that's a very familiar voice, even muffled by the rolled-up scroll. Handy scrambles to find where he left it; when it turns on the feed from his end shows a ceiling, Handy having unrolled it on the floor. A multi-hued blue face comes into view a second later, upside-down because he's standing on the wrong side.]

Donna?!

[thedoctorsmate]

Doctor? Where are you? And where's the TARDIS? If you dumped me in the middle of a square of horses and flew off, I swear I'm not above banging your head with a hoof, you dumbo.

[bluesuit_hoofy]

I'll explain later. [Meaning never.] You're in the square, then?

...Hang on. Hang on, when is this for you? You're not feeling...burn-y, by any chance, are you? [Really, he's concerned. This is his concerned face, though it's still upside-down.]

[thedoctorsmate]

Yeah, it's got a nice little fountain here. Did the horses build that? [She glances to the side where the fountain is flowing merrily. How would they use tools? She hasn't seen any humans, though, and that's definitely the Doctor as a pony, too.]

And what are you talking about, though? Burn-y? I stayed inside on Midnight like a normal person, thanks very much. [That thought does make her frown as she looks up at the sky.] Is there something wrong with the sun here?

As for your doctor, Trixie is unable to locate without the valid information that is a name.

[She sounds like a peach. In spite of her excitement over seeing a unicorn talking to her, Donna's expression flattens to thoroughly-unimpressed in an instant.]

You pry a name out of that skinny boy suit that isn't 'John Smith,' and I'll go find a hat to eat. I take it you're Trixie?

Correct! The very mare you cast your gaze on is the most powerful, most dazzling, most enticing equine to grace the land of Equestria with her presence! She has defeated hoards of Manticore, flattened armies of dragons, felled hoards of Timber Wolves, and has even bested The Dreaded Ursa Major itself! She's...

The Grrrreat and Powerful Trrrrixie!

[She rears up in a theatrical pose. Fireworks shoot up from behind her, exploding in many dazzling colors.]

[Still incredibly unimpressed here. She buffs one hoof on her jacket and stares down at it for a moment before looking back up at Trixie.]

Yeah, well, I'm the Great and Powerful Donna. Defeated the Racknoss, flattened the Sontaran, felled a giant alien wasp, and bested everyone in her class on the test scores for the temp agency. Oh, and freed the Ood from slavery.

I don't think much of the Great and Powerful Trixie. Nice performance, but attitude's half the delivery. You sound like you've got a head filled with more helium than the Hindenburg.

[She may be a pony at the moment but it only takes a second to recognize her. Hearing her speak about him put her at a time before he had to leave her mind. He gives a small cheer of excitement, delighted to see an old friend and begins talking before he can think of his inevitable regenerated setback.]

Donna! [He gives a delighted laugh.] Look at you! Hooves and snout but you're definitely Donna Noble!

[Donna raises a brow, looking askance at the stallion on the scroll. His voice is unfamiliar.]

That's me, but who're you? How do you know my name?

[It's more than a little disconcerting.]

...Do you know the Doctor?
